On September 21, 2023, Mr. Le Mai Huu Lam, the CEO of CAT VAN LOI Industrial Electrical Equipment JSC, was chosen by the Private Sector Competitiveness Enhancement Project (IPSC) to participate in the "ICF Approved Leadership Coaching Programs" training course organized by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and join the expert support network for businesses of the USAID-IPSC project. The training class was conducted by experts including Mr. Luke Salway and Ms. Cristy Aphimonthol from IFC, Mr. James Gilman - the Coordinator of USAID-IPSC, Mr. Mark Birnhaum - Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Vietnam, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich - Deputy Director of the Enterprise Development Department under the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
The Private Sector Competitiveness Enhancement Project (IPSC) organized a certification program for Leadership Coaching Experts in collaboration with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). This program was designed for 50 consulting and industry experts. The training course was conducted by a team of highly experienced international experts who are certified by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). This program was part of a series of online and in-person training programs held in September 2023. Upon completion of the training, participants who meet the criteria will receive ICF-certified credentials and will be able to coach and train small and growing businesses effectively, helping them unlock their development potential.
While accompanying and supporting small and growing businesses in Vietnam, the IPSC Project has recognized that these businesses often face difficulties in finding advice, solutions, or tools to address various challenges they may encounter. Identifying and using the services of capable experts and consultants can also be a hurdle, as the businesses' access to expert networks is limited, and consulting costs can be prohibitively high.
Therefore, alongside technical support activities for small and growing businesses during the project's implementation, IPSC also works on strengthening and expanding the network of experienced coaching experts with consultation skills. This aims to maximize the potential of these businesses while building a competitive advantage in both domestic and international markets.
Coaching for businesses is an emerging field in Vietnam, with a limited number of certified coaching experts from the International Coaching Federation. This is the first ICF coaching skills training program organized for a large group of consulting experts in Vietnam. After the training program, the participating experts will be included in the expert consultant database managed by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, making it easier for businesses to access this network of experts.
Furthermore, the Private Sector Competitiveness Enhancement Project (IPSC) by USAID IPSC and AED has announced the selection of CÁT VẠN LỢI Industrial Electrical Equipment Company Limited to participate in the "Vietnam Pioneer Enterprises" support package for phase 2. This project, led by USAID IPSC and AED, provides financial support of $150,000 to the enterprise for restructuring and enhancing export competitiveness, as well as establishing competitive CVL product strategies in both the international and ASEAN markets. The technical implementation of the project will be carried out by Deloitte Vietnam at the enterprise over a period of two fiscal years.
The IPSC Project is a technical assistance project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the Enterprise Development Bureau (AED) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) as the project lead. IPSC aims to eliminate policy, market, and internal barriers that hinder the development of small and growing enterprises in Vietnam, including those owned by women and vulnerable groups.
With the goal of promoting the enforcement of private sector economic development policies, IPSC aims to enhance the competitive capacity of small and growing enterprises in Vietnam, including those owned by women and vulnerable groups. The project will implement support packages to enhance management capacity, develop business strategies, adopt new technologies, and access markets. One of the project's top priorities is to support the development of pioneering enterprises (PEs) that can establish Vietnam's product brands and expand into international markets.
