♦ Application: Rigid conduit bodies LR are used for making 90-degree turns in conduit systems. They are designed for use with Rigid Steel Conduit (RSC) and Intermediate Metal Conduit (IMC) and provide a means of changing the direction of a conduit run. The "LR" designation stands for "Left-Right" and indicates that the body has a long radius sweep which allows for a smoother turn and reduces the risk of wire damage or excessive friction. The bodies are typically made of galvanized steel to resist corrosion and provide durability in harsh environments. They are also rated for use in hazardous locations where explosive gases or dust may be present.
