On the morning of September 18, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with Samsung Vietnam, organized the opening ceremony for the "Training of Digital Transformation and Smart Factory Consulting Experts." The event was attended by Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, leaders from the Ministry of Industry and other relevant departments, and representatives from Samsung Vietnam, including Mr. Choi Joo Ho, the General Director of Samsung Vietnam Group, and many other Samsung Vietnam leaders.
In 2023, the collaboration project between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Samsung Vietnam for the development of Smart Factories will continue to be implemented for 24 enterprises in both the northern and southern regions of Vietnam. This project aims to enhance manufacturing capabilities through digital transformation and expand opportunities for participation in supply chains. The project's goal is to train 100 Vietnamese experts and provide consulting and improvement support to 50 enterprises in adopting Smart Factory concepts within two years (2022 - 2023) to enhance the expertise of local consulting experts and improve manufacturing capabilities based on information technology.

Participants in the program will undergo a 12-week training program, including 3 weeks of theoretical learning and 9 weeks of practical experience, to improve their knowledge and skills in setting up Smart Factories. Based on on-site consulting results, these experts will continue to support enterprises in building operational and management systems in the future, encouraging businesses to continue implementing improvement activities and regularly assessing improvements in production and information technology.
By the end of 2022, Samsung had supported the training of 51 experts in the field of Smart Factories in Vietnam and provided consulting for the development of Smart Factories for 26 enterprises across the country (14 in the northern region and 12 in the southern region). In 2023, the project will continue to be implemented for 24 enterprises.
In the 2023 training phase in the southern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, Cat Van Loi Industrial Equipment Manufacturing Company received support from the Samsung Group to train 2 experts and conduct practical training at the G.I Cat Van Loi electrical conduit manufacturing plant for 9 weeks. This training aims to enhance management capabilities, labor productivity, and improve manufacturing processes through the application of digital technology to real-time production time management in four aspects: Production - Quality - Cost - Delivery. Samsung Vietnam's leading experts assessed the current operational status of the company's factory according to Smart Factory standards. Based on this evaluation, businesses will receive support and consultation to establish Smart Factories.
The Smart Factory development collaboration project is the latest program in a series of consulting and improvement activities for Vietnamese businesses and the training of Vietnamese experts, aimed at expanding the overall effectiveness and reinforcing the combined strength of industrial development activities supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in cooperation with Samsung.
Since 2015, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Samsung have cooperated to implement a consulting program to enhance competitiveness for 379 Vietnamese enterprises. During the period of 2018-2021, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Samsung trained 406 industrial support experts in Vietnam.
